New Toyota Camry Makes Global Debut, India Launch Anticipated in 2024

Since its launch in 1982, the Toyota Camry has been one of the flagship sedan cars in the global market. The leading Japanese carmaker has unveiled the new generation of Camry, which comes as a pure hybrid car in the market.

The ninth-generation Toyota Camry gets a 2.5-liter inline-four-cylinder engine coupled with two compact electric motors capable of offering a higher range and reducing tailpipe emission. Interestingly, the new version of the Camry has now turned into a larger Toyota Prius.

The new Camry boasts a fully revised and enhanced front fascia and updated bumper with wider air inlets for the exterior. The carmaker has provided refreshed headlamps with sleeker DRLs. Although the car has retained its sloping roofline, the rear profile looks fresh and has a new diffuser with dual exhaust tips and new tail lamps.

The cabin area has also undergone some notable changes. Depending upon the variants, the new Toyota Camry features a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a 10-inch head-up display. Camry has ADAS features, including front cross-traffic alert, lane change assist, traffic jam assist, and a 360-degree monitor.

Regarding powertrain, a 2.5-liter inline-four engine with two electric motors generates 222 bhp with FWD or 229 bhp with AWD. In India, the Toyota Camry is not a big-selling sedan car but achieves a monthly sales of 150-200 units.
