India has been eagerly waiting for Skoda to release its latest midsize SUV, the Kushaq, for quite some time. Finally, the wait has ended with Skoda launching the SUV in three versions. This vehicle comes equipped with a powerful 1.0 TSI and 1.5 TSI engine. The lower-end version, Active 1.0 TSI MT, is available for Rs 10.49 lakhs, whereas the top-end version, Style 1.5 TSI AT, costs Rs 17.59 lakhs.
Interested customers can place their bookings for the Skoda Kushaq on the official website and Skoda dealerships by paying Rs 35,000 as the initial booking amount.

Skoda displayed the vehicle in its concept form at the 2020 Auto Expo and revealed the production-spec model in March 2021. The Kushaq is Skoda’s first SUV on the localized MQB A0 IN platform.
The highlights of the Skoda KushaqThe Exterior Design – Skoda carries forward the trademark grille from its larger SUV models that come with sleek headlamps on either side accompanied by the secondary cluster lighting beneath it. The wrap-around LED tail lamps, the roof-mounted spoiler, and the faux diffuser element on its bumper complete the rear exterior. In addition, the top-end model features 17-inches alloy wheels for added comfort.
The Interior Features – This vehicle gets a similar two-spoke steering wheel as observed in the Octavia model. The top-end variant features a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system complete with Apple Car Play and Android Auto compatibility. Other excellent features include leatherette seats, ambient lighting arrangements, connected-car technology, in-car Wi-Fi, a sunroof, and a wireless charger, and many more.
The Safety Features – Skoda cares for the safety of all passengers by providing six airbags. Other standard features include ABS, EBD, rear parking camera, hill start assist, multi-collision braking system, auto headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, and many more.
The Variants – While Skoda has introduced three variants now, a fourth one, the range-topping Monte Carlo version, is expected very soon.
The Engine – The Skoda Kushaq draws its power from two powerful engine combinations, 1.0L TSI 3-cylinder unit producing 115hp power and 178Nm torque, and the 1.5L 4-cylinder TSI engine with 150hp and 250Nm torque. The standard offering is the 6-speed manual transmission system. Besides, an automatic gearbox option is also available. Furthermore, it includes a 6-speed torque converter option for the 1.0 TSI engine and a 7-speed DSG option for the 1.5 TSI. In addition, the 1.5L TSI models feature cylinder deactivation technology to ensure greater fuel efficiency.
The Power – The 1.0 TSI MT Kushaq can spring from 0 to 100 kmph in 10.6 seconds, whereas the automatic version clocks 11.7 seconds. The 1.5 TSI version achieves the sprint within 8.6 seconds.
The Competition – Prominent competitors include Tata Harrier, Hyundai Creta, MG Hector, Kia Seltos, and Nissan Kicks.
