Suzuki Swift has been the hot favorite among everyone across the world. Believing a new report, the brand is in plans to introduce the next generation of this vehicle along with its derivatives to target different segments and audiences. Speculations say that the new vehicle will be based on the reformed version of lightweight performance-oriented heatect platform which is believed to make the car more frugal and balanced on a variety of surfaces.
The new Suzuki Swift 2022 will be based on the Swift Sport which comes with a 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine. Talking about the derivatives, Suzuki is planning to introduce a cross variant of the alleged vehicle to handle the need of budget SUV buyers. The Swift Cross may have a higher stance than the donor vehicle and will sit between Ignis and Vitara.
Not just the engine, the car will see drastic changes in the interior and exterior. The current version of the car has already been in the international market for 5 years now and Japanese automaker will revise the same probably by next year. With the updated version, Suzuki Swift Exterior will see major design changes and will have a more rugged appeal. As Suzuki has already joined hands with Toyota to develop vehicles to be utilized mutually, Swift Cross 2022 may also be a rebadged version of the Toyota Yaris Cross.
Going with the current set of speculations, the 1.4-litre turbo petrol will come with a mild-hybrid powertrain to keep the pollution levels and efficiency in check. While the new gen Suzuki Swift may arrive by 2022, the Cross and Sport variants will be rolling out by 2023.
