Tata Punch EV Spotted During Road Test; Expected to Launch Soon in India

Tata Motors is expanding its EV portfolio in the Indian market. After the launch of Tata's most affordable electric car, Tiago EV, the company aims to further extend its offering by launching an electric variant of Tata Punch by mid-2023. Recently, the SUV was spotted undergoing a through-road test for the first time in India.

Tata Punch EV Expected Features

The upcoming Tata electric car, Punch EV, would mainly resemble its ICE counterpart and be launched after some tweaks in design. Buyers can expect it to be more feature-rich than its petrol variants available in the market. Additionally, the recent spy shots of Punch EV reveal that it will feature disc brakes on all four wheels.

Tata Punch EV Battery Capacity & Range

Tata Motors' latest launch is expected to have a 25 kWh battery that would deliver a maximum range of 200 to 300 km on a full charge. This is Tata's first use of the ALFA platform on its electric cars. Further, the motor pack would produce 60 bhp power and support DC fast charging.

Tata Punch EV Expected Price in India

With the launch of the Tata Punch EV, Tata will fill the gap between Tiago and Nexon. The expected ex-showroom price for Punch EV can range from Rs 9.50 lakh to Rs 12 lakh. Moreover, the electric car would compete with Citroen eC3 and Nexon EV Prime.
