Tata Safari production crosses its first milestone of 10000

The 10000th Tata Safari unit rolls out of the Tata Motors plant in five months

Tata Safari is proving to be a popular vehicle with nearly 9000 vehicles already sold in the market. Moreover, the average sales per month are close to 1800. As a result, Tata Safari hopes to cross the magical 10000 sales mark in July 2021. Within five months of its launch, the Tata Safari production line has crossed 10000 vehicles.

Shailesh Chandra, President of the Passenger Vehicles Business Unit at Tata Motors, congratulates the team members for putting in the hard work enabling Tata Motors to cross a significant milestone in a short span of five months.With the overall Tata Safari sales touching 9000 in the four months after its launch, Tata Safari plans to cross the 10000 mark in July as the average monthly sales are around 1727 units.

The new Tata Safari might not equal the original vehicle. Still, there are many positives, such as the robust 2.0L diesel engine that delivers 170hp power and 350Nm torque, the smooth automatic gearbox, and adequate space and comfort in the third row of seats. As a result, this vehicle is a suitable SUV for the entire family.

Tata Motors states that the Safari is one of the top-selling 6/7 seater SUVs in the Indian market with a near 25% share. Together with Tata Harrier, these SUVs garner nearly 41% of the SUV segment as of Q1 FY22.However, Tata Safari has its competitors in the 3-row SUV market from Hyundai Alcazar, Mahindra XUV500, and the MG Hector Plus.

Besides, the new Mahindra XUV700 is set to replace the existing XUV500. Hence, the competition is intense in this market.
