BYD Seagull

Latest Update: BYD Seagull was launched in China in 2023 after being officially unveiled at Auto Shanghai 2023. After China, BYD also launched this affordable electric hatchback in Mexico, Australia, Colombia, Brazil, and Europe. The Chinese EV maker is now planning to launch its Seagull EV in India. However, the launch date is not confirmed, but some industry experts say the BYD Seagull can debut in India by Q1 of 2026.

Design

BYD Seagull EV is a 5-door electric hatchback car with a stylish tallboy design. It has sharp exterior accents and striking headlight clusters for stunning visual appeal. Additionally, it gets an aggressively designed bumper, rising window line, and roof-integrated spoiler. On the rear, it comprises a bold styling with a connected LED taillamp setup. BYD has focused on making the electric hatchback more modern and energetic than its competitors in the market.

Interior
Inside the cabin, the affordable hatchback from BYD will likely feature a range of technology features and comfortable seating arrangements with comparable space for front and second-row passengers. It will have a large touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital driver display, and a wireless phone charging unit.

Powertrain
Under the bonnet, the Seagull electric hatchback will receive two battery pack options: 30 kWh and 38 kWh. Depending on the customer's chosen variant, it will have a 72PS or 100PS electric motor. While the entry-level battery pack will offer 305 km of range, the more powerful option will deliver 405 km of maximum range on a single charge.

Price & Rivals
The expected price of the BYD Seagull will start from Rs 10 lakh in India. Under this price range, BYD's affordable electric car will go against the likes of MG Comet EV, Citroen eC3, and Tata Tiago EV.
