Ather 450X leads the electric scooter segment with 220% y-o-y sales growth, in July 2023

The electric scooter market in India is witnessing a rapid growth, as more and more consumers are opting for the cost-effective mobility solutions. Among the various electric scooter models available in the market, the Ather 450X has emerged as the leader, with a whopping 220% year-on-year growth in sales in July 2023.

According to the data released by the Society of Manufacturers of Electric Vehicles (SMEV), Ather sold 10,202 units of its flagship model, the 450X, in July 2023, compared to 3,190 units in July 2022. This translates to a growth rate of 220%, which is the highest among all the electric scooter models in the country. The Ather 450X also registered a 6% month-on-month growth, as it sold 10,202 units in July 2023, compared to 9,670 units in May 2023.

What does Ather 450X has to offers?**

The Ather 450X is a premium electric scooter that offers a range of features such as a touchscreen dashboard, smartphone connectivity, fast charging, and multiple ride modes. The scooter has a top speed of 80 kmph and can accelerate from 0 to 40 kmph in 3.3 seconds. The scooter has a battery capacity of 2.9 kWh and can deliver a range of up to 85 km on a single charge.

The Ather 450X is priced at Rs.1.59 lakh (ex-showroom) and is available in four colors: white, grey, green, and black. The scooter is currently sold in over 30 cities across India and has a network of over 200 fast charging stations, called Ather Grids. The company plans to expand its presence to more than 50 cities by the end of this year and increase its production capacity to meet the growing demand.
