Honda 2 wheelers report 279% growth in July 2023 sales , in India

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India, the second-largest two-wheeler manufacturer in the country, has announced its sales figures for July 2023. The company has recorded a growth in its domestic sales, despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and the semiconductor shortage.

Scooter segment declines by 29%

The company’s scooter segment witnessed a decline of 29% year-on-year, as it sold 130,830 units of Activa and 9,189 units of Dio in July 2023, as against 184,305 units of Activa and 26,450 units of Dio in July 2022. The company’s other scooter models, such as Grazia, did not record any sales in July 2023.

Motorcycle segment grows by 33687%

The company’s motorcycle segment, on the other hand, saw a significant growth of 33687% year-on-year, as it sold 32,666 units of Shine, 99,254 units of Shine 125, and 26,692 units of CB Unicorn 160 in July 2023. The company had sold only 79 units of CB Unicorn 160 and no units of Shine and Shine 125 in July 2022. The company’s other motorcycle models, such as Dream, Livo, X Blade, CB300R, and Hornet 2.0, did not record any sales in July 2023.

Performance segment shows positive trend

The company’s performance segment also showed a positive trend, as it sold 4,125 units of Hiness in July 2023, which is a 95% increase from the 2,120 units sold in July 2022. The company’s other performance models, such as CB500F, CBR650R, and CB1000R, did not record any sales in July 2023.

Company attributes growth to rural and semi-urban markets

The company attributed its growth to the strong demand for its products in the rural and semi-urban markets, as well as the easing of lockdown restrictions and the improvement of supply chain operations. The company also said that it is ramping up its production capacity to meet the customer demand and reduce the waiting period for its products.Company announces new launches in coming months

The company also announced that it will launch new products and variants in the coming months to cater to the diverse needs and preferences of its customers. The company said that it is confident of maintaining its growth momentum in the festive season and beyond.
