Ather Coming Up With New Electric Scooter Named "Rizta"

Bangalore-based electric two-wheeler manufacturer, Ather Energy, recently launched Ather 450 Apex and now planning to launch its new electric scooter in the lineup - the 'Rizta’. Expected to hit the market by mid-2024, the Rizta scooter is set to redefine urban commuting, targeting families with an emphasis on enhanced space and comfort. The scooter is set to unveil in ACDC 24 - Ather Community Day Celebration 2024. 

Ather Energy, known for its performance-oriented 450 scooter series, is expanding its portfolio to cater to a broader audience. The new 'Rizta' scooter is designed to be more spacious, making it an ideal choice for family use.

The news of an upcoming electric-scooter Rizta has maintained the position of Ather as one of the strongest competitors against Ola Electric, Bajaj, Ampere, Hero Electric, and TVS Motor Company.

Xabier Eskibel, Head of Marketing in the 2W Segment at Uno Minda Ltd., highlighted the distinctive features of Rizta, stating, "The seat is a differentiator for other offerings in the market and ensures that the entire family can enjoy it together."

Co-founder and CEO of Ather Energy, Tarun Mehta stated, "With Rizta, we will be taking a big leap in comfort and safety. Our teams have been working on this for a while (this one has been on and off the table since 2019!) now and have pulled off some amazing integrations that are industry-first and will make your ride experience way better." Furthermore, he added,"Rizta will also continue to maintain the same quality and reliability that Ather’s other products are known for." in his recent tweet.

Spy images of the Ather Rizta suggest a sleek design, featuring a wide and flat seat, flat footboard, LED lights, a touchscreen instrument console, alloy wheels, and a front disc brake. These features, combined with Uno Minda's focus on stylish lamps, are expected to enhance the overall appeal of the scooter.

The name of the scooter was anticipated to be 'Diesel' and many wonder if 'Diesel' is the official name or merely a code name for the upcoming model. However, Ather has finally stated that the scooter will be named Rizta. 

Rizta's launch is anticipated to bring a new dimension to the electric two-wheeler market, offering a blend of performance, comfort, and affordability for urban commuters.
